Program Structure

A. Coursework option:
YEAR 1: Student enters master degree program will take research methodology, two foundation courses in mathematics and two core courses in biomedical engineering. There two series of core courses in Biomedical Engineering which are biomedical engineering series and health care management series. In biomedical engineering series, the core courses are principle of biomedical engineering and physiology. In healthcare management series, the core courses are core business function and healthcare technology management. Biomedical series is suitable for those who are not graduated bachelor degree in biomedical Engineering. Those who finish bachelor degree in biomedical Engineering may take courses in healthcare technology management. The first year course also includes seminar and 6 credits of master thesis.
YEAR 2: Students still continue to take one seminar course and another 6 credits of master thesis. Based on their research theme, students also choose to take another one engineering elective course and three biomedical elective courses from advanced subjects such as  Computational Simulations for Chemical Engineering, Medical Instrumentation, Biomedical Signal Processing, Bioinformatics, Medicinal Chemistry Concepts for Engineers, etc.
B. Non-coursework option:
For the non-coursework option, students will take only two seminar course one research methodology and 36 credits of master thesis during their two years of study.
