Our D.Eng. is integrated master and D.Eng. program. The total credit for students who finish bachelor degree and master degree are 72 and 48 credits respectively. The program is also divided into coursework option and non-course work option.
For coursework option:
Students who finish their bachelor’s degree must take three seminar courses (1 credit each), three core courses in mathematics, five elective courses in biomedical engineering, and 36 credits of doctoral thesis. This must be undertaken in the first four years of study.
Students who finish their master’s degree must take three seminar course (1 credit each), one core course in mathematics, three elective courses in biomedical engineering, and 36 credits for their doctoral thesis. This must be undertaken in the first three years of study.
For non-coursework option:
- Students who finish with a bachelor’s degree must take three seminar courses (1 credit each) and 72 credits of doctoral thesis.
- Students who finish with a master’s degree must take three seminar courses (1 credit each) and 48 credits of doctoral thesis.
Entry Requirements
Standard academic entry requirements:
Students must have a bachelor/master degree in engineering in one of the following engineering disciplines: biomedical, electronics, telecommunication, electrical, chemical, bio, control, measurement and information technology.
Students must have a bachelor/master degree in science in one of the following disciplines: applied physics, medical technology, biomedical science, computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, chemistry, biology and biochemistry.
Minimum academic entry requirements:
For coursework option, a GPA of 2.50 is usually required whereas the non-course coursework option a GPA of 3.50 is required.
English language proficiency requirements:
Prior to the graduation, student must pass the Standard English test from at least one of the following standardized test:
- IELTS – The minimum acceptable score is 3 or
- TOEFL ITP – The minimum acceptable score is 400 or
- CU-TEP – The minimum acceptable score is 30 or
- CEPT(Cambridge English Placement Test) – The minimum acceptable score is 20 or
- TU GET The minimum acceptable score is 333 or
- TOEIC – The minimum acceptable score is 450 or
- KMITL-TEP – The minimum acceptable score is A2
Fees & Financial Support
Tuition fees amount to 32,000 Baht per semester for Thai students, and 120,000 Baht for International students. Financial support to cover tuition fees and/or living expenses is available in certain circumstances. Please discuss this with the BME researcher you are interested in studying a postgraduate degree.
